Lynette Spencer, MBA, LCSW
Lynette is the founder, owner, and clinical director of Blue Dot Psychotherapy, PLLC, where she leads and supervises a growing group practice. She also serves in executive and consulting roles within community-based mental health and nonprofit organizations including Parker Bounds Johnson Foundation and Adventure Works of DeKalb County, Inc. Her leadership is grounded in systems thinking, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to creating safe, supportive environments for both clients and clinicians.
My Approach
Lynette Spencer is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience across clinical, educational, and leadership settings. She brings a steady, thoughtful presence to her work and believes that meaningful therapy begins with authenticity, kindness, and respect for each person as the expert on their own life.
Her professional background includes inpatient and outpatient behavioral healthcare, crisis intervention, higher education, clinical supervision, and private practice. In addition to her clinical work, Lynette has extensive experience in organizational leadership and supervision, supporting ethical, high-quality care within both nonprofit and private practice settings.
Lynette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University, and a Master of Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. She is licensed as an LCSW in Illinois and Utah.
Outside of her professional work, Lynette finds grounding and renewal through spending time with family and friends, being in nature, and traveling.
